Erwin Eder
Born in Schwarzach im Pongau in 1970, I grew up in Bischofshofen as the youngest child in a family of seven.
I have been living with my wife in Salzburg and Wals-Viehhausen since 2001.
As a child, I always drew and painted, and I have been expanding my skills as a self-taught artist since my youth.
Since fall 2016, I have been intensively engaged in watercolor painting.

Description of my work
My works often emerge spontaneously or are “triggered” by events. My painting process may seem chaotic, but it is always guided by a clear intention: to capture lived experiences and emotions on paper.
I often compare myself to a jazz musician who knows what he wants to play but always leaves himself room to react to things and circumstances. For me, the fascination of watercolor lies in learning to live with mistakes or even turning “mistakes” to my advantage, and in not knowing what will happen during the process of painting.
